Η Billie Eilish ήταν η μεγάλη νικήτρια των φετινών Grammys, με την Αμερικανίδα pop star να κερδίζει έξι από τα επτά βραβεία για τα οποία ήταν υποψήφια, συμπεριλαμβανομένων των τεσσάρων μεγάλων βραβεία της βραδιάς: για το άλμπουμ της χρονιάς, καλύτερου νέου καλλιτέχνης, καλύτερου τραγουδιού και του δίσκου της χρονιάς για το «bad guy». Ο αδερφός και συνεργάτης της Finneas αντίστοιχα κέρδισε το βραβείο του παραγωγού της χρονιάς.

Αντίστοιχα πετυχημένη ήταν η βραδιά για την Lizzo, η οποία απέσπασε τρία βραβεία –  καλύτερης solo pop ερμηνείας για το «Truth Hurts», καλύτερης παραδοσιακής R&B ερμηνείας για το «Jerome» και καλύτερου urban contemporary album για το «Cuz I Love You». Με βραβείο Grammy έφυγαν επίσης οι Lil Nas X, Tyler the Creator, Anderson .Paak, Rosalía, Tool και Gary Clark Jr.

Επί σκηνής εμφανίστηκαν μεταξύ άλλων οι Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, Lizzo, αλλά και οι Aerosmith χωρίς τον ντράμερ Joey Kramer. Ο Lil Nas X από την πλευρά τραγούδησε με την συμμετοχή καλλιτεχνών που εμφανίστηκαν στα πολλά remix του «Old Town Road», όπως τον Diplo, τον Billy Ray Cyrus και τους BTS.
